The world of Entenn

My name is Mate Jako and I'm an illustrator from Hungary living in London . This is a little showcase of my works, ideas, and sketches.

Would you pick up this book when you saw it’s cover, I wonder? I hope you would. Who doesn’t like Lovecraft? This is an image of a Night gaunt by the way!
You guys already know that I’m a huge H. P. Lovecraft fan! This is a Night Gaunt. Night Gaunts are inspired by H. P. Lovecraft’s childhood dreams. These creatures visited the writer several times in his ?dreams? and took him to the lower reaches of dreamlands.”When I was 6 or 7 I used to be tormented constantly with a peculiar type of recurrent nightmare in which a monstrous race of entities (called by me ‘night-gaunts’—I don’t know where I got hold of the name) used to snatch me up [and] carry me off… Undoubtedly I derived the [creatures’ appearance] from the jumbled memory of Doré drawings (largely the illustrations to ‘Paradise Lost’) which fascinated me in waking hours.”

They have no face, and they can fly with their huge leathery wings.
Time to time I make something “Lovecraftian”. I love it, because there is so much detail I can pack into these images, it is really therapeutic. I guess that is why we love monsters so much! At least I do!

I wanted to upload my exclusive “Reconcile” cushion covers here much earlier next week! Pretty much the same time I upload them on my Facebook page. But then they sold out in only 19 hours!!! So I didn’t have the chance, I can only tease you with this here. There will be next time!

It is done!
Just before the end of the competition! It was a tight deadline but I had a blast of creating this image!
I had this idea for a Batman illustration for a very long time. I envisaged an image of my all time favorite hero snapping. Now all true Batman fans know that Batman never kills. But what if… what if just once he’s been taken over by rage and cannot control his sorrow over all the people the Joker killed. And then he wraps his fingers around Joker’s neck just slightly bit too tight… and it’s done. He crossed the line. It is over… or is it?
I did a cover version of the illustration just for fun to see how it would read on a comic cover! The inspiration for the image was the work of my all time favorite Batman illustrator: Norm Breyfogle! Hope you like it!
Don’t forget to like it share it and keep coming back for more!
